Sleep Tracking Guide

Monitor your baby's sleep patterns with the smart timer and detailed analytics.

Sleep Timer

The sleep timer is your primary tool for tracking sleep sessions:

  • Start Sleeping Now: Click when your baby falls asleep. The start time is saved immediately.
  • Wake Up: Click when your baby wakes up. The system calculates total sleep duration.
  • Expected Duration: Optionally set an expected nap duration to help with planning.
Offline Tip: The sleep timer works offline. If you start sleep without internet, the timer runs locally and syncs when you reconnect.

Sleep Quality

Baby Tracker automatically categorizes sleep quality based on duration and time of day:

  • Peaceful: Sleep sessions longer than 2.5 hours or night sleep (7 PM - 7 AM).
  • Restless: Daytime naps between 45 minutes and 2.5 hours.
  • Interrupted: Short sleep bursts under 45 minutes.

Sleep Goals by Age

The app provides age-appropriate sleep recommendations:

  • Newborn (0-3 months): 16-18 hours total sleep
  • Infant (4-11 months): 12-16 hours total sleep
  • Toddler (1-2 years): 11-14 hours total sleep

Sleep Analytics

The Sleep Score page provides detailed insights:

  • Daily sleep trend chart showing total sleep over time.
  • Sleep quality distribution (peaceful vs restless vs interrupted).
  • Night vs day sleep balance to monitor circadian rhythm development.
  • AI-powered sleep insights based on your baby's patterns.

Tips for Better Sleep

  • Establish a consistent bedtime routine (bath, book, bed).
  • Watch for sleepy cues and follow age-appropriate wake windows.
  • Create a dark, quiet, and cool sleep environment.
  • Be consistent with nap times and bedtime.
