Health & Growth Guide
Track your baby's growth, vital signs, and vaccination records.
Logging Health Vitals
The Health section allows you to record:
- Weight: Record in kilograms (kg) with up to 3 decimal places for precision.
- Height: Measure in centimeters (cm).
- Head Circumference: Track head growth in centimeters (cm).
- Temperature (°C): Record in degrees Celsius (°C).
- Notes: Add observations, symptoms, or medication details.
- Photos: Upload milestone photos to track development visually.
WHO Growth Standards
Baby Tracker uses official WHO Child Growth Standards (2006) based on healthy breastfed children. The Growth Analytics page shows:
- Weight-for-age chart comparing your baby to WHO median.
- Height-for-age chart with WHO reference lines.
- Percentile
Growth Tip: Regular measurements (weekly for newborns, monthly for older babies) provide the most accurate growth trends.
Vaccinations
The Vaccinations page helps you track immunizations based on German STIKO recommendations:
- Complete schedule from birth through adolescence.
- Status indicators: Completed, Upcoming, Overdue
- Log administered vaccines with date and notes.
- Automatic reminders when vaccines are due or overdue.
Diapers & hydration
Diaper frequency complements fluid intake—steady wet diapers reassure hydration between weighed feeds.
- Record wet/dirty/both, color, consistency, optional photos, and notes for pediatric visits.
- Diaper rows participate in History filters alongside feeds and sleep.
Medical calendar recap:
Events adapt to birth dates—always confirm schedules with your clinician before delaying mandated care.
Understanding Percentiles
Percentiles show how your baby compares to other babies of the same age and gender:
- 50th percentile = average (median)
- Above 85th percentile = above average
- Below 15th percentile = below average
- The trend (direction of growth) is more important than any single measurement.
Medical Disclaimer: This app provides tracking and reference information only. Always consult your pediatrician for medical advice, especially if you have concerns about your baby's growth or development.
When to Consult a Doctor
- Significant weight loss or failure to gain weight.
- Fever over 38°C (100.4°F) in babies under 3 months.
